You should usually receive the V5 Logbook within 5 days. However, the DVLA do advise allowing 4 weeks for this to come through to you in the post.

Occasionally, we aren't provided the V5 logbook with vehicles we purchase. As a result we have to request a replacement logbook using a V62 form. With this, the DVLA quote a timeframe of up to 6 weeks.
